This Privacy Policy describes how the Akonta application ("we", "the app") collects, uses, and protects your information. Akonta is a bar and point-of-sale management system that helps establishment owners and their staff track sales, expenses, stock, and daily reports.
Your privacy and the security of your business data are our priority.
2. Information We Collect
The app collects and stores the following data:
- Account information: first name, last name, username, and a hashed password. We never store passwords in plain text.
- Role and permissions: user role within the establishment (e.g. Owner, Admin, Server) and the bar they are associated with.
- Business data: sales records (ventes), expenses (dépenses), stock movements, drink and article inventories, and daily financial reports entered by the user.
- Establishment data: bar name, address, phone number, and owner information entered during setup.
- Session tokens: JWT (JSON Web Token) issued at login to authenticate subsequent requests. Tokens are short-lived and contain only non-sensitive identifiers.
3. How Your Data Is Protected
- Passwords are hashed using industry-standard algorithms (bcrypt) and are never stored or transmitted in readable form.
- All API communication is secured over HTTPS.
- Access to data is controlled by role-based permissions: each user can only access data relevant to their role and establishment.
- JWT tokens are signed and expire automatically; they cannot be forged or reused after expiry.
- We do not have access to your raw passwords.
4. How We Use Your Information
Your data is used solely to:
- Provide the Akonta service: recording and consulting sales, expenses, stock levels, and business reports.
- Authenticate users and enforce role-based access control within each establishment.
- Generate daily and periodic financial summaries (bilans) for the establishment owner.
- Improve the reliability and security of the application (server logs may include minimal, anonymised technical data).
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data or your establishment's business data with third parties for marketing or any other purpose.
5. Data Storage and Location
Your account and business data are stored on the servers used to run this application. We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect this data. If you have questions about hosting or data residency, please contact the operator of this service.
The app does not process or store any payment card information. Financial figures recorded in Akonta represent your own sales and expense entries only.
6. Your Rights
You may:
- Access and update your account information through the app or by contacting an administrator.
- Request correction of inaccurate data at any time.
- Request deletion of your account and associated personal data by contacting the administrator or operator of the Akonta instance you use.
- Export your business data (reports, ventes, dépenses) via the reporting features provided in the app.
7. Session Tokens and Technical Data
Akonta uses JWT tokens to maintain authenticated sessions. These tokens are stored on your device and sent with each API request. They are invalidated on logout or expiry and are not used for tracking or advertising purposes.
Server logs may record request metadata (timestamps, endpoints accessed, HTTP status codes) for diagnostic and security purposes. This data is retained for a limited period and is not linked to personally identifiable information beyond what is strictly necessary.
8. Children's Privacy
Akonta is a professional business-management tool intended for use by adults operating or working in licensed establishments. The app is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from minors.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will be revised when changes are made. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
